Frequently asked questions
Can I use my logo as a watermark instead of text?
Not right now — the tool only supports typed text, like your company name or a word such as Confidential. It doesn't let you upload an image or logo to use as the mark, so if you need that exact logo stamped on, you'd have to combine it with another image editing tool. If you need something more advanced or automated, that's a separate build we can talk through.
Does the watermark appear once, or does it repeat across the page?
It repeats diagonally across the whole page or image in a tiled pattern, not as a single stamp in one corner. That makes it harder to crop out or cover with another element, but it also means it visually covers a good part of the document, so it's worth adjusting the opacity so the original content stays readable.
What happens to my file when I add the watermark?
Nothing leaves your device. The PDF is processed with the pdf-lib library and the image with the browser's Canvas, both running directly on your own computer, so the file never travels to our servers or anyone else's.
Does it work with JPG and PNG images, or only PDF?
It works with both. Upload a PDF or a JPG, PNG, or WEBP image and the tool automatically detects the file type to apply the watermark correctly. Video files aren't supported.
Is it free, and do I need to create an account?
It's free and doesn't ask for an account or an email. You can watermark one file or twenty in the same day, with no limit, because all the processing runs in your browser instead of on any server of ours.
