Which PDF metadata fields can I edit with this tool?
You can edit four standard fields: title, author, subject, and keywords. These are the values many programs show as the browser tab name or in a file preview, and they can quietly reveal who created the document or what software was used.
Does this change the visible text or content on the pages?
No. It only changes the file's invisible metadata, not what's printed on the pages themselves. If you need to fix something inside the actual document text, you'll need another tool for that before adjusting the metadata here.
Does it also remove GPS location or edit history from the PDF?
It doesn't, and usually there's nothing to remove: unlike a photo, a PDF typically doesn't carry GPS coordinates. Some editors do embed an internal revision history, but this tool is scoped specifically to the four standard metadata fields, not that kind of extra data.
Does my PDF get uploaded to a server to edit its metadata?
No. The file is processed entirely inside your browser, using the pdf-lib library running on your own device. It never travels to our servers or anyone else's, so you can use it on sensitive documents without worrying about that.
Is it free, and do I need to create an account?
