How to turn your voice into text in 3 steps
Allow microphone access
Click Record and your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time. Grant it once, and the tool is ready to use instantly every time you come back.
Speak naturally
Dictate your message, note, or paragraph at a normal pace. The text appears as you talk: what's still being processed shows in gray, and confirmed text shows in solid black. It won't be perfectly accurate every time, especially with background noise or technical vocabulary, but it still saves a lot of time compared to typing everything out.
Copy or download the result
Press Stop when you're done talking. Then copy the text to your clipboard to paste it wherever you need, or download it straight away as a .txt file.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work in every browser?
Not equally in all of them. It works well in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, which have solid support for the browser's built-in speech recognition. Safari and Firefox have limited or no support at all, so if you talk and nothing shows up, try opening the tool in Chrome or Edge instead.
Can I upload an audio file or a WhatsApp voice note to transcribe it?
No. This tool only transcribes what you say live into the microphone; it doesn't accept audio files like an MP3 or an already-recorded voice note. If you need to transcribe an existing audio file, this isn't the right tool for that job.
Does my voice or the text get stored on a server anywhere?
No. Speech recognition happens in your own browser and the text only appears on your screen. We don't send audio or text to any server, ours or anyone else's, and nothing is saved anywhere — close the tab and it's gone, except for whatever you already copied or downloaded.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. It runs directly in whatever browser you already have, with nothing to install and no extensions to add, and no sign-up or email required. The only thing it asks for is microphone permission, and only the first time.
What language does it recognize when I speak?
It recognizes whatever language the site is currently set to: if you're viewing the page in English it understands English, and the same goes if you switch it to Spanish, French, or Portuguese. Change the site's language first if you need to dictate in a different one.
