Remove Photo Background
Erase the background from an image and get a transparent PNG, without uploading it anywhere.
Drag your image here or click to choose it
JPG, PNG or WEBP. Processed in your browser, never uploaded to any server.
Cutting out a person or a product by hand takes time and rarely comes out even. This tool uses an AI model that runs inside your browser: it finds the main subject, erases everything else, and hands back a PNG with a transparent background. The photo never leaves your device.
How to remove the background
Load your image
Drag the photo into the box or click to pick it from your computer. It works with JPG, PNG and WEBP, and there is no limit on images.
Wait for the cutout
The model downloads the first time, then works inside your browser: it spots the main person or object and erases everything around it.
Download the PNG
Check the result and download the image with its transparent background. No watermark, no signup and no waiting in line behind other users.
When it comes in handy
- You're adding products to your online store and need every photo to sit on the same white or transparent background.
- You sell over WhatsApp and want the item to show up clean, without the kitchen table and the rest of the room behind it.
- You're putting together a slide deck or a resume and need your photo cut out so you can drop it on another background.
Common questions
Is it free, or is there a limit?
It's free and there's no limit on images. We don't ask you to sign up, we don't add a watermark and there's no paid tier: the work happens on your own computer, so we have no server costs to pass on to you.
What happens to my photos? Are they uploaded?
They aren't. The image opens and is processed inside your browser, on your device, and it never travels to a server of ours or anyone else's. You can test it: disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and the tool still works.
Do I need to install any software?
No. It runs in the browser you already have, on a computer or a phone. The first time around it downloads the AI model, a few megabytes; after that it stays saved and the cutout starts much faster.
What format does the image download in?
As a PNG, which is the format that keeps transparency, so you can place it over any color or image. If you need a white background, open the PNG in any editor and put a solid color underneath before saving.
Does the cutout always come out well?
Not always. With people and well-defined objects the result is usually clean, but loose hair, glass, smoke or a background the same color as the subject can leave rough edges. It's worth checking the image before you publish it.
